Our training program allows our restaurant team Co-workers to grow within the company. Co-worker Health Insurance Program
Upon joining Golden Corral, you are eligible to participate in the voluntary benefits program including medical, dental, vision, and life coverage regardless of the number of hours you work per week. Co-workers averaging 30 or more hours per week during a 12-month period are eligible to participate in a comprehensive major medical plan where contributions are shared between the company and you.

Education Fund
Golden Corral Corporation is committed to helping our company-operated restaurant hourly employees achieve their educational goals. The Connie M. Maynard Education Fund provides interest-free loans to our restaurant team member to help with education expenses. Loans range from $1,000 to $2,000 and can be used for any educational expenses such as tuition, books and supplies or room and board.

To be eligible to apply, team members must work 600 hours during the 12-month period immediately preceding the deadline, and have a 2.5 grade point average or GED. Recipients of loan awards who return as full-time employees after completing degree requirements will be forgiven the amount of their loan at a rate of $200 per month for each month of continued full-time employment. Applicants will be selected based on several factors including academic achievement, potential to succeed, education and career goals and work experience.

General Manager – Trains, coaches and develops your entire restaurant team. Ensure optimal restaurant performance; overseeing facility, financial and human resources activities to drive a successful operation.
Kitchen Manager – Help ensure total guest satisfaction, quality food production and sound restaurant performance. Oversees the entire kitchen team while managing inventory and food cost controls.
Hospitality Manager – Ensures total guest satisfaction while leading the front-of-the-house service team. Oversees guest interaction, standards for service, restaurant facilities & equipment, and staffing and training. 

District Manager – As a multi-unit manager, you provide leadership and guidance to company-operated restaurant managers while monitoring store performance and ensuring standards are maintained. You are accountable for management development and staffing, restaurant financial results, and facilities maintenance while upholding Golden Corral’s mission of “Making Pleasurable Dining Affordable” for our guests. 

Franchise Business Consultant – In this multi-unit manager role, you provide support and consultation to Golden Corral franchisees to ensure restaurant operations conditions exist for optimal sales and profits as part of the franchise operations team. As the key Golden Corral liaison for our franchisees, you communicate and/or implement process, training and operational changes to ensure operating standards to uphold Golden Corral’s brand.

Certified Kitchen Assistant Manager – Cross-train in all skill areas within the restaurant, gaining knowledge of operational tasks including ordering, receiving, storage, and menu planning. This entry-level hourly management position requires completion of a 1-year certification program including in-store management skills modules, and a classroom development course.

TRAINING
At Golden Corral, we believe your learning should begin before you serve the first guest in your restaurant. We take the time to give every management candidate the opportunity to learn the Golden Corral system before you are assigned to a restaurant. This training is extensive and is a demonstration of our commitment to you and your success.

TWO-TIERED, 13-WEEK PROGRAM IN A CERTIFIED TRAINING RESTAURANT
TIER 1 – Seven weeks in each of eight Skill Position areas, including one week of shadowing a Training Manager
TIER 2 – Six weeks learning the tools, techniques and systems critical to running a successful Golden Corral as a Hospitality or Kitchen Manager
INCLUDES:

  • Online learning modules and live, interactive virtual classroom sessions
  • Discussion board activities with other manager trainees across the country
  • In-store activities with a Certified Training Manager, including job shadowing and practice in all departments
  • Training manuals with need-to-know information, focusing on the most critical knowledge for store management

PUT YOUR EARNING POTENTIAL IN YOUR HANDS
We are very excited about our exceptional incentive program developed to reward the hard work and of our managers. What other family dining concept offers this unique opportunity where average total compensation for Operating Partners is over $100,000? Golden Corral Operating Partners are rewarded each month with an incentive bonus. 

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE? Since there are no limits to bonuses, as the performance of the restaurant increases, so does your total compensation. As an Operating Partner, your monthly bonus percentage increases in Years 1 and 2. In Year 3, you have the opportunity to become       the franchisee of your own restaurant or receive an additional increase to your bonus incentive.
  • A participant must be employed by Golden Corral Corporation in the position of General Manager at a company-operated restaurant for a term of one year in the restaurant for which he or she will serve as Operating Partner.
  • Participants must meet operating standards and financial results.
  • The Operating Partner will enter into an Operating Partner agreement and pay a $25,000 refundable security deposit. When you become a franchisee, the refundable Operating Partner security deposit may be invested toward franchising your restaurant.

Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, Golden Corral is structured so that decisions are made at the closest level to our guests. Company and franchise restaurants have a dedicated support team to assist each restaurant in achieving its full potential.  Leading all of our Golden Corral restaurant operations is a Sr. Vice President of Operations with divisions and districts supporting field operations.  District Managers lead our company-operated restaurants while Franchise Business Consultants provide support to our franchise restaurants.

At the Company Support Center in Raleigh, NC, there are seven functions that report directly to the President and CEO. The seven functions are Operations, Development, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Finance, and Franchise Development. Company Support Center departments are located at 5151 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.

The Golden Corral Center for Training and Development provides extensive training to prepare both company and franchise restaurant management candidates to succeed in the Golden Corral system, in addition to providing skills and resources to prepare and cross-train our restaurant team members. Additionally, they offer continuing development for restaurant managers, trainers and multi-unit managers.

Prostart Internships

Supported by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and the foodservice industry, ProStart is a two-year career and technical education program in high schools focused on teaching culinary arts and restaurant management fundamentals through a combination of classroom and industry instruction. Once students pass two national exams, demonstrate a mastery of foundational skills, and work 400 mentored hours, they earn the ProStart Certificate of Achievement, which makes them eligible to receive scholarships and course credits at select colleges and universities.
